Getting started
Five-minute inactivity lock
The workspace locks after five minutes without activity. Here is what locks, what is kept, and how to get back in.
Contents
DialSplice locks the workspace after five minutes without activity. The lock protects contact data on an unattended screen. It does not discard your work. Alerts you have not acknowledged wait in the in-app recovery inbox until you act on them.
What triggers the lock
- No clicks, keystrokes, or scrolling in the DialSplice tab for five minutes.
- The timer runs whether or not a work item is open. Being on a call in your phone app does not count as activity in DialSplice.
What you’ll see
- A lock screen replaces the workspace. Contact names, numbers, and history are hidden.
- A “Workspace locked · inactivity” alert may be delivered as a browser push, depending on your location’s notification policy.
- The event is written to the audit ledger with your name and location. No contact identity is included.
Steps to unlock
- Click the lock screen and sign in again.
- The workspace reopens where you left it, including the open work item if your lease has not expired.
- Check the bell icon. Any alert that arrived while you were locked is in the recovery inbox. Click Acknowledge on each one after you have read it.
- Set your status. If you were Available before the lock, confirm that is still correct.
Leases and the lock
Locking does not release your lease straight away. If you stay locked long enough, the lease can expire and the item returns to the queue. If you know you will be away, set your status to Break and release the item first.
If something looks wrong
- You are locked while typing. Typing in another application does not count. Keep the DialSplice tab active while you write notes.
- Your work item is gone after unlocking. The lease expired and another agent claimed it. Search for the contact to see its current owner.
- The lock fires too often. Five minutes is a fixed policy. Managers cannot extend it per agent.
